Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a unified communications platform that combines persistent workplace chat, video meetings, file storage, application integration, and many other features.  As part of the University's Office 365 subscription, faculty and staff can download and install Teams software by going to https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads, or from the Office 365 Portal at https://portal.office.com.

IMPORTANT!  Sensitive information including personally-identifiable information (PII) should not be stored in any online (cloud) file hosting platform, including Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams Features

  • Facilitate audio/video meetings
  • Chat-based solution instead of email to communicate with colleagues
  • Channels to organize your team’s work, files and key resources
  • Store files in a document library which can be accessed by team members
  • Integrates with other Microsoft Office 365 services

Requesting a Teams workspace
To request a teams workspace, please submit a help desk ticket request via http://help.pace.edu (after logging in, the ticket form will populate with the correct request type). Each team created will also get a team site in SharePoint Online, which allows the team to share and store their files in an effective way. Teams integrates directly with SharePoint Online and OneDrive for file storage.

Note

For more information about Teams and helpful training resources, visit the Teams training courses page. Additionally, you can sign in to LinkedIn Learning and review the available video tutorials and training courses.

Our Technical Service Department will be able to assist users with this. The request type should be Information Technology > File Share & Service Management > Teams or Sharepoint. (Note: Clicking this link will pre-populate the form after you log in). The rest of the request type is determined by the issue the client has brought up.
